The Road to Goodbye

Today is the final day of NaPoWriMo 2021. The prompt asks us to write a poem giving directions to a person to get to a specific place. I intended to follow the prompt, but my poem took on a direction of its own.

The Road to Goodbye
By Candace Shultz

I am on a road that forks and bends.

It has crossroads, T junctions, and dead ends.

Sometimes it loops in circles again and again.

Sometimes it stretches forever, and then

Finally, one day, it ends.
