There Once Said a Fork to a Spoon

The NaPoWriMo prompt today is to write about two unlikely things that have a fight. I felt like being a little silly today, so I wrote a limerick about a fork and spoon having a fight.

There Once Said a Fork to a Spoon
By Candace Shultz

There once said a fork to a spoon,
"I am better than you, you buffoon."
The spoon did reply
by flinging some pie
and then ran from a hungry raccoon.

Black Tea of the Sea - a Limerick

Black Tea of the Sea
By Candace Shultz

There once was a man of the sea
Who delighted in drinking black tea.
He filled up his cup
And said, "Bottoms up!"
Then he sipped from the salty Black Sea.

Bon Appétit

In following with the prompt to write about a very small thing, I decided to write a limerick about a bug today.

Bon Appétit
By Candace Shultz

There once was a bug on the floor.

It hid in the dark by the door.

My cat found it quick

And gave it a lick,

Then looked in the corner for more.

Limerick - My Cat

My Cat

I have a cat that is very rude.

She jumps on the counter and eats my food.

She breaks all my things.

She steals all the strings

And walks around my house in the nude.

Limerick - Marshmallow

I once knew a cat named Marshmallow,

Who refused to trust any fellow.

If one came around,

She'd run, outward bound,

Her belly jiggling like jello.

Limerick: A Writer from Texas

There once was a writer from Texas
Who thought she was riddled with hexes.
She tried to write
With all of her might,
But instead she kept drawing X's.

Limerick - Quit Monkeying Around

Quit Monkeying Around
By Candace Shultz

I once knew a guy from the zoo.
He kissed a girl monkey or two.
"Cut it out," I said.
He wiggled instead
And threw a big chunk of his poo.

Limerick - Old Mother Hubba Hubba

I've never written a limerick, so I gave it a try yesterday. The following poem is my first limerick ever. My husband came up with the title.

Old Mother Hubba Hubba
By Candace Shultz

There once was a Grandma who read
A book of romance in her bed.
The words were obscene,
For her just routine,
So she jumped on her husband instead.

I dedicate this poem to my Grandma.
