Dancing in the Trees

Today's NaPoWriMo prompt said to use repetition, so in my poem I repeat the imagery of bright green leaves.

Dancing in the Trees
By Candace Shultz

Leaves green and bright

Dance in the sunlight,

Swaying to the sound

Of musical wind chimes.

The wind sighs at such a sight

And weaves through the trees,

Wanting to dance too

With the leaves green and bright.

The chimes sing louder

As the wind dances faster

Swirling, spinning, falling

With the leaves bright and green

Until they both settle on the ground

Breathless and happy.

The chimes fall silent

And all is serene.
